-->Septiembre de 1958

-->18 de enero de 1960
Camarada Lei Feng:

-->Junio de 1960

-->15 de junio de 1960

--> 18 de enero de 1961

-->Marzo de 1961

-->16 de marzo de 1961
La más honorable cosa en el mundo ... El trabajo.
La persona más honorable en el mundo ... El Trabajador”.

-->Abril de 1961

-->11 de septiembre de 1961

-->3 de octubre de 1961

-->16 de octubre de 1961

-->20 de octubre de 1961

-->26 de noviembre de 1961

-->10 de febrero de 1962

-->17 de abril de 1962

-->2 de marzo de 1962

Selected diary of Lei Feng,

June 7, 1958

"...If you were one drop of water, do you moisten the field? If you were a ray of sunshine, do you brighten the darkness? If you were a morsel of food, do you provide others with nutrition? If you were the tiniest bolt, do you stay in place and fulfill your duty? If you want to tell others your ideals, do you preach them day and night? When you are alive do you always remember to work hard and realize your efforts will affect future lives and let the world become more beautiful day by day? I want to ask you: What do you contribute to the future? In life you must be a giver and not just a taker."

September, 1958

"I understand the theory that one flower can not make the spring. Only thousands of flowers blossoming together can bring spring to the garden."

October 25, 1959

"Youth! Forever beautiful! But real youth can only be found in people who strive for success, putting work before self and are humble, eternally."

January 18, 1960

Comrade Lei Feng:

"I want you to be a pine tree in a storm,

not a sprout in a greenhouse!"

"Remember always, at work the comrade with the most ambition is the one you regard as your equal but in life you should regard the comrade who has the lowest living standard."

June, 1960

"One piece of silk does not make a string. One single tree does not make a forest. One single person can not succeed on his own. You have to motivate people and depend on them to accomplish the task as a group. I must learn from the people humbly and be a student of them. Only in this way will the work be better and progress be made constantly. I deeply feel that when you become one with the people and earn their support - this will give you infinite power. The ability to overcome the biggest difficulties, no matter how difficult the situation is, will always give you warmth and happiness."

June 15, 1960

"I am willing to be the pines in the mountain rock, rather than to be the willow trees beside the lake shore. I am willing to be in the storm, struggling and fighting difficulties to strengthen myself, rather than spend my life in tranquility."

Oct 21, 1960

"We should learn the great sayings by heart:

The way you treat your comrades should be as warm as spring,

The way you treat your work should be as hot as summer,

The way you treat individualism should be as the autumn wind sweeping away the withered leaves.

The way you treat your enemies should be as cruel as winter."

Jan 18, 1961

"On the path of moving forward, it is impossible to avoid some temporary difficulties. The nature of these difficulties are 'paper tigers'.

The problem is... Are we going to run away or fight, when we are facing these 'paper tigers'?

Go to the place where the difficulties are. Not only, fight with the tigers when we meet them but also search for the tigers ourselves. This is way for the sublime communist."

"Some people say 'Food, clothing and entertainment are the only things that bring happiness.'

For our life, we should be diligent and create wealth with our own hands, devoting ourselves to the liberation of human beings. That is true happiness."

March, 1961

"What is the beauty of these times? The soldiers fading and patched yellow uniform, the soiled blue suit of the workingman and the big callused hands of the farmer are the most beautiful things. The sunburned dark faces of the laborer, the glorious sound of the trumpet calling them to work and the souls of the people who devote themselves to socialistic construction are the most beautiful things. All these things combine the beauty of these times. Anyone who doesn't think it is beautiful doesn't understand these times."

"Some people complain that studying requires too much time, the way I look at the problem is: It’s not how busy you are but whether you have passion for studying and whether you know how to squeeze the time."

"We do have time for studying but we must be good at using our time wisely."

"How can nails, nail up a perfect board which has no holes? Because we exert pressure on the nails, so they can squeeze into the board, from this point, the nail has two strong points, one is squeezing and the other is drilling. After examination we should promote the nails spirit and learn from it."

March 16, 1961

"The most honorable thing in the world...Work.

The most honorable person in the world...Worker."

April, 1961

"Squeeze time to read. Get up early and go to bed late, squeeze a little before and after you eat, think about reading when you are marching, squeeze the time when you attend a meeting. Learn even more on weekends and holidays."

"If you want to walk for a thousand miles, you still have to do it step by step"

Sept 11, 1961

"The People's difficulty, is my difficulty. It is my responsibly to contribute my own strength to help people overcome difficulty. I am a leader of the country. I represent the ordinary hard working people. The greatest happiness for me is to help others overcome difficulty."

Oct 3, 1961

"Death is unavoidable in life. Some death is as light as a feather, but some is as heavy as the Tai mountain. I feel as a revolutionary, I should devote my energy and entire life to the emancipation of human beings. My only goal in life is to be useful for the people."

"When our country and people are in a great danger, we have to step forward bravely and not fear sacrifice. For the people we will live or sacrifice our lives."

Oct 16, 1961

"All high buildings and large mansions are built brick by brick. Why can I not be a brick? That is the reason everyday I do many trivial things."

Oct 20, 1961

"Human life is limited but serving people is unlimited. I want to devote my limited life to serving people unlimitedly."

Nov 26, 1961

"I think the meaning of living is improving other people's lives. I should take Huang Jiguang, Dong Cunrui and Fang Zhimin, for example, to be people who love the motherland, the people and someone who is devoted to the Party and the revolution."

Feb 10, 1962

"I feel that a revolutionary should put the revolution's interest first. Contribute his all for the party's enterprise. It is the happiest thing."

April 17, 1962

"A person's function regarding the revolution is just like a bolt on a machine. The machine has many bolts that function together and only then does it become a solid whole, revolving freely and displaying its incredible working ability. Although the bolt is small, do no underestimate its function. I want to be a bolt- forever! The bolt must be maintained and cleaned, so it will not rust. Human thought is similar. It must be inspected frequently to avoid failure.

March 2, 1962

"People who are too arrogant are ignorant. He doesn't know his real capabilities. He doesn't realize he is only one drop in the ocean....

These people are like a half full bottle of water, not a full bottle, but a half bottle, when you shake the bottle the water does not flow out. Why are they so arrogant?"
